One chimpanzee eats between 3kg – 6 kg of food (depending of age, sex and health), mostly fruits and veggies, per day. Chimfunshi is home for over 145 chimpanzees besides other rescued local wildlife such as vervets and yellow baboons. To be able to ensure our residents health and good condition, Chimfunshi needs to buy 18,000kg (nearly 40k lbs.) of chimp food every month.

Ours doors closed during the height of the COVID pandemic to protect our chimpanzees and team, and without visitors for many months, paired with rising inflation, Chimfunshi is facing extremely challenging times. Help us to provide care to our rescued chimps. Buy a chimp a meal.
